Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207 BY SENATOR MURRAY A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams, a native of Simmesport, Louisiana, and a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams or "Big Will", as he was affectionately called by his students, players and extended family, was the father of Jon Glynn Williams, Cornell Davage Williams, and Corice Dorosa Williams; and WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams was the grandfather of Alisha Christine Pagano; and WHEREAS, he was the great-grandfather of Leah Christine Pagano and Devin Ramon Pagano; and WHEREAS, he was the brother-in-law of Dorothy A. Glynn Cager and Larry Cager, Sr., first cousin of Yvonne C. Webster, Thomas Cooper, Jr., and the late Robert "Bobbee" Cooper; and WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams was preceded in death by mother Dorothy A. Williams, Elizabeth Brown (maternal aunt), Georgia Cooper (maternal aunt), and his beloved wife Shirley Christine Glynn Williams; and WHEREAS, he will be missed by all the members of the community he educated whether formally or informally and by his favorite dog, Nola Roux; and WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams will be missed by the friends who loved to hear his laughter and gift of gab but most of all, he will be missed, revered, and loved eternally by those who loved him the most, his children. SR NO. 207 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby offers its condolences, on behalf of its members, present and past, and on behalf of the citizens of the state, to the family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams.
