SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22
BY SENATOR WALSWORTH 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends the Haynesville High School Football Team on winning
the Class 3-1A State Championship.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate the Haynesville High School football team upon its excellent2
2013 football season that culminated in winning the 2013 Louisiana High School3
Athletic Association Class 1A state championship.4
WHEREAS, the Haynesville High School football team, under the tutelage of5
principal William Kennedy and head coach David Franklin, was crowned the Class 1A6
Champs, after completing an impressive district schedule and sweeping the district with a7
stellar record of five victories and no defeats; and8
WHEREAS, the team capped off a magnificent season by winning the 20139
Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship defeating10
Mangham High School 42-21, recording its sixteenth state title and its eleventh perfect11
season; and12
WHEREAS, in winning the championship, the Haynesville High School Golden13
Tornado displayed the courage, determination, fortitude, and desire of all championship14
teams; and15
WHEREAS, the Haynesville High School football players, coaches, managers,16
trainers, ball boys and videographers all displayed both excellence and impeccable team17
concept throughout the season, and each of the intrepid young players deserves individual18 SR NO. 22

recognition for their vital contribution to the winning effort and the success of the football1
program at Haynesville High School; and2
WHEREAS, players DelAndre Kingsby, Trent Franklin, Damarcian McCutchen,3
JeQuan Banks, Peyton Carter, Jerrell Jackson, Shaviairre Murray, Jamel Harris, Kendrick4
Jackson, Cutter Nelson, Felix Evans, Keshawn Harris, CaVontae Critton, James Jackson,5
K.Z. Larkins, Shawn Henderson, Blake Gilbert, Tyus Early, Denzel Presley, Joseph French,6
Kelsey Smith, Keandre Harris, Detavion Evans, Daniel Thompson, Kendall Hampton, Brian7
Randle, Phillip Sims, Dalton Thompson, Alex Scruggs, Trent Thompson, Xavier Critton,8
Edward Boyd, Mikhall Cooper, Miguel DeLeon, Lance Young, J'Marquiez Robinson,9
Dearrus Johnson, Lorenzo Jackson Jr., Chesly Johnston, Dantae Sturges, Tyler Bowman,10
Tony Critton, Jarius Knowles, Trey Crew, Ryan Beckel, Tyler LaPrarie, Josh Evans, Caleb11
Watts, Fabian Washington, James Matlock, and Parker Bailey are all to be recognized and12
commended for their discipline and commitment to the team and to each other that resulted13
in a phenomenal season with an impressive undefeated overall record of fourteen wins and14
no losses; and15
WHEREAS, head coach David Franklin and assistant coaches Alton "Red" Franklin,16
Tracey Jackson, Tony Gantt, Mario Thompson, Chris Baurer, Moise Critton and Ladrius17
Buggs are all to be recognized and commended for instilling in the players the kind of18
leadership and motivational skills needed to achieve great success both on and off the19
football field; and20
WHEREAS, videographers Donovan Manning, and Ethan Coker, trainers Macey21
Holly, Danielle Punch, Shelly Bishop, Sharee Bishop, Jordan Clements, and Faith Williams,22
and ball boys Zach Kennedy, Jamarceon Jackson, and Jalan Harris are all recognized and23
commended for their support and dedication to the team and their contributions to the team's24
incredible success; and 25
WHEREAS, through its display of good sportsmanship, hard work, and outstanding26
play, the Haynesville High School Golden Tornado football team brings a commanding27
sense of honor and immense pride to their school, their city, and to the state of Louisiana;28
and29
WHEREAS, the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana joins the citizens of Louisiana30 SR NO. 22

in commending the coaches and players of Haynesville High School football team for their1
hard work and outstanding accomplishment on winning the Class 1A state championship2
title.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana4
does hereby commend and congratulate the Haynesville High School football team upon its5
excellence during the 2013 football season that culminated in winning the Louisiana High6
School Athletic Association's Class 1A state championship. 7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the8
Haynesville High School principal William Kennedy and head football coach David9
Franklin.10
