Page 1 of 3 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22 BY SENATOR WALSWORTH A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate the Haynesville High School football team upon its excellent 2013 football season that culminated in winning the 2013 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship. WHEREAS, the Haynesville High School football team, under the tutelage of principal William Kennedy and head coach David Franklin, was crowned the Class 1A Champs, after completing an impressive district schedule and sweeping the district with a stellar record of five victories and no defeats; and WHEREAS, the team capped off a magnificent season by winning the 2013 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship defeating Mangham High School 42-21, recording its sixteenth state title and its eleventh perfect season; and WHEREAS, in winning the championship, the Haynesville High School Golden Tornado displayed the courage, determination, fortitude, and desire of all championship teams; and WHEREAS, the Haynesville High School football players, coaches, managers, trainers, ball boys and videographers all displayed both excellence and impeccable team concept throughout the season, and each of the intrepid young players deserves individual recognition for their vital contribution to the winning effort and the success of the football program at Haynesville High School; and WHEREAS, players DelAndre Kingsby, Trent Franklin, Damarcian McCutchen, JeQuan Banks, Peyton Carter, Jerrell Jackson, Shaviairre Murray, Jamel Harris, Kendrick Jackson, Cutter Nelson, Felix Evans, Keshawn Harris, CaVontae Critton, James Jackson, K.Z. Larkins, Shawn Henderson, Blake Gilbert, Tyus Early, Denzel Presley, Joseph French, Kelsey Smith, Keandre Harris, Detavion Evans, Daniel Thompson, SR NO. 22 ENROLLED Page 2 of 3 Kendall Hampton, Brian Randle, Phillip Sims, Dalton Thompson, Alex Scruggs, Trent Thompson, Xavier Critton, Edward Boyd, Mikhall Cooper, Miguel DeLeon, Lance Young, J'Marquiez Robinson, Dearrus Johnson, Lorenzo Jackson Jr., Chesly Johnston, Dantae Sturges, Tyler Bowman, Tony Critton,Jarius Knowles, Trey Crew, Ryan Beckel, Tyler LaPrarie, Josh Evans, Caleb Watts, Fabian Washington, James Matlock, and Parker Bailey are all to be recognized and commended for their discipline and commitment to the team and to each other that resulted in a phenomenal season with an impressive undefeated overall record of fourteen wins and no losses; and WHEREAS, head coach David Franklin and assistant coaches Alton "Red" Franklin, Tracey Jackson, Tony Gantt, Mario Thompson, Chris Baurer, Moise Critton and Ladrius Buggs are all to be recognized and commended for instilling in the players the kind of leadership and motivational skills needed to achieve great success both on and off the football field; and WHEREAS, videographers Donovan Manning and Ethan Coker, trainers Macey Holly, Danielle Punch, Shelly Bishop, Sharee Bishop, Jordan Clements, and Faith Williams, and ball boys Zach Kennedy, Jamarceon Jackson, and Jalan Harris are all recognized and commended for their support and dedication to the team and their contributions to the team's incredible success; and WHEREAS, through its display of good sportsmanship, hard work, and outstanding play, the Haynesville High School Golden Tornado football team brings a commanding sense of honor and immense pride to its school, city, and to the state of Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana joins the citizens of Louisiana in commending the coaches and players of the Haynesville High School football team for their hard work and outstanding accomplishment on winning the Class 1A state championship title. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the Haynesville High School football team upon its excellence during the 2013 football season that culminated in winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's Class 1A state championship.
