SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 24
BY SENATOR ERDEY 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Cameron Cade Hood upon completing the requirements for and earning the
ranking of Eagle Scout.
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February
8, 1910, and chartered by the United States Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational
program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of
participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness; and
WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting, a Boy
Scout must fulfill all requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills, and
the Eagle Scout must earn twenty-one Merit Badges that signify the mastery of scoutcraft
skills, including Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, and Citizenship
in the World; and
WHEREAS, Cameron Cade Hood has been a scout since 2005, has completed
several community service projects and earned numerous awards along his path to Eagle
Scout, and his Eagle Scout project consisted of implementing a prayer garden at the Hope
House of Louisiana, the local site that houses girls rescued from human trafficking; and
WHEREAS, only a small percentage of Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank,
illustrating that it takes a uniquely-motivated young man like Cameron Cade Hood to strive
to embody the five integral responsibilities of an Eagle Scout: honor, loyalty, courage, cheer,
and service; and
WHEREAS, being presented with his Eagle Scout badge, Eagle Scout Hood joins
the ranks of such esteemed and respected Eagle Scouts as the Honorable Gerald R. Ford, the
thirty-eighth president of the United States; Captain James Lovell, commander of the Apollo
13 space flight; Neil Armstrong, commander of Apollo 11, who gained the distinction of SR NO. 24	ENROLLED

being the first man to walk on the moon; Steven Spielberg, movie producer/director; and
Henry Aaron, baseball player and home run king; and
WHEREAS, the legacy of the Boy Scouts of America is rich indeed, for it not only
includes a history of service and proud citizenship that spans over a century, it includes the
momentous and singular accomplishments of Cameron Cade Hood who is recognized and
commended for his deep human values, the genuine spirit of good fellowship he inspires,
and his service as a fine example of hard work and integrity in the eyes of future Eagle
Scouts and his entire community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does
hereby commend and honor Cameron Cade Hood upon achieving the rank of Eagle Scout,
express the utmost gratitude and respect for the exemplary strides he has taken as a scout and
citizen, congratulate Eagle Scout Hood and the members and leaders of Troop 11 as they
commemorate the most significant and unforgettable event when Cameron Cade Hood
pledged his eternal loyalty to the code of the Eagle Scout, and wish him full measures of
success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Eagle
Scout, Cameron Cade Hood.
