SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 59
BY SENATOR CLAITOR 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Trevor Schermer of Brusly High School, four-time individual state wrestling
champion.
WHEREAS, Trevor Schermer won his fourth individual state title at the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association's State Wrestling Tournament; and
WHEREAS, this win gave Trevor and his brother, Austin Schermer, a stake in a
claim to wrestling history naming them the first brothers to each win four individual
Louisiana High School Athletic Association state titles; and
WHEREAS, Trevor is the top seed in the Division III 152-pound weight class and
has a 54-3 record while wrestling in three weight classes; and 
WHEREAS, his 177-29 career record includes state titles at 112 pounds as a
freshman, 126 pounds as a sophomore, and 132 pounds as a junior; and
WHEREAS, Trevor benefits from a special support system including a father who
was a competitive bodybuilder, a mother who is a dietician, and an older brother who is also
a wrestling state champion; and
WHEREAS, the team work and training at Brusly High School prepare the student
wrestlers to perform at high aptitudes; and 
WHEREAS, The Brusly High School Panthers have won ten of the past ten state
titles in Division III, and won the Greater Baton Rouge City Wrestling Championship; and
WHEREAS, Trevor completed his high school career as a champion and is
considering extending his wrestling career to college; and
WHEREAS, the Schermer brothers truly illustrate why the Brusly High School
wrestling program is such a success in the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Trevor Schermer of Brusly High School, four-time individual state
wrestling champion. SR NO. 59	ENROLLED
