SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 86
BY SENATOR GALLOT 
A RESOLUTION
To recognize Thursday, May 1, 2014, as Lemonade Day for Ruston Elementary School in
Ruston, Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana is a free, community-wide program that
fosters entrepreneurship and character development among Louisiana's youth by supporting
them in establishing and operating their own lemonade businesses; and
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana was founded in 2010 by John Georges and
Todd Graves and has grown tremendously over the last few years; and
WHEREAS, over ten thousand youth across Louisiana participate in Lemonade Day
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, young entrepreneurs are encouraged to donate a portion of their
proceeds to charity through the sales at lemonade stands and citizens are encouraged to
purchase lemonade from the stands; and
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana is sponsored by many major businesses and
companies throughout the state, including Raising Cane's, Chevron, Liberty Bank, Century
Link, and United Healthcare; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana is one of over forty regions in the United States and Canada
to participate in Lemonade Day.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby recognize Thursday, May 1, 2014, as Lemonade Day for Ruston Elementary
School in Ruston, Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Ruston Elementary School.
