SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 95
BY SENATOR ADLEY 
CONDOLENCES. Extends condolences upon the death of U.S. Army Command Sergeant
Major Andre M. Johnson.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the2
family of United States Army Command Sergeant Major Andre Miguel Johnson3
upon his death.4
WHEREAS, Command Sergeant Major Johnson was a career soldier who served his5
country bravely for twenty-eight years; and6
WHEREAS, Command Sergeant Major Johnson was the beloved husband of Sonja7
Averett Johnson, with whom he fathered three children, daughter Jasmine, and sons Andre8
Jr., and Jaylen; and9
WHEREAS, Command Sergeant Major Johnson served in many positions of10
leadership during his military career, including Squad Leader, Section Leader of a Bradley11
Command, Platoon Leader, First Sergeant and Command Sergeant Major; and12
WHEREAS, his awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with V-13
Device for Valor and three Oak Leaf Clusters, as well as the Purple Heart and many service,14
achievement and commendation medals; and15
WHEREAS, Command Sergeant Major Johnson was forty-six years old when he16
suddenly became ill at his post in Fort Bliss, Texas, and passed away unexpectedly; and17
WHEREAS, his family, friends, loved ones and fellow soldiers must now carry the18 SR NO. 95

memory of Command Sergeant Major Johnson in their hearts and by those feelings and1
memories he will continue to live.2
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana3
does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to the family of U.S. Army4
Command Sergeant Major Andre M. Johnson for their loss of a beloved man and for the5
sacrifice made by the Command Sergeant Major while serving his country.6
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to7
Command Sergeant Major Johnson's family.8
