APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Debra Stutes, et al., v. General Motors Corp., et al"
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Debra Stutes, et al
4 v. General Motors Corp., et al"; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.A. The sum of Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand and No/100 ($850,000.00)
7Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal
8Year 2015-2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Debra Stutes,
9et al v. General Motors Corp., et al", bearing Number 2007-6628 on the docket of the 14
th
10Judicial District Court, parish of Calcasieu, state of Louisiana.
11 B. Monies awarded in this judgment to Debra Stutes for future medical expenses
12shall be payable as incurred from the Future Medical Care Fund pursuant to R.S. 39:1533.2.
13 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
14and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
152015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
