BOARDS/COMMISSIONS:  Provides relative to the La. Egg Commission
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 3:837(B)(introductory paragraph) and (2) and (I), relative to the
3 Louisiana Egg Commission; to provide for a decrease in the membership of the
4 commission; to provide for commission meeting requirements; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 3:837(B)(introductory paragraph) and (2) and (I) are hereby amended
8and reenacted to read as follows:
9 ยง837.  Louisiana Egg Commission; creation, organization

11	B.  The commission shall consist of nine seven members appointed by the
12 commissioner and confirmed by the Senate.
13	*          *          *
14	(2)  Four Two members shall be active distributors.
15	*          *          *
16	I.  The commission shall meet quarterly as needed and may meet on the call
17 of the chairman or upon the request of any three members.

Abstract:  Changes the composition of the La. Egg Commission (commission) by
decreasing the number of members.  Modifies the commission meeting requirements.
Present law provides for a nine member commission.  Proposed law reduces the number of
members from nine to seven.
Present law requires that four members of the commission shall be active distributors.
Proposed law reduces the number of members that are active distributors from four to two.
Present law requires the commission to meet quarterly and allows them to also meet on the
call of the chairman.  Proposed law modifies present law by requiring the commission to
meet as needed on the call of the chairman or upon the request of any three members.
