SCHOOLS: Provides relative to membership of the board of directors for the New Orleans
Center for the Creative Arts
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 17:1970.24(B)(1)(introductory paragraph) and to enact R.S.
3 17:1970.24(B)(1)(f), relative to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts; to provide
4 with respect to the membership of its board of directors; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 17:1970.24(B)(1)(introductory paragraph) is hereby amended and
8reenacted and R.S. 17:1970.24(B)(1)(f), is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9 ยง1970.24. Board of directors; creation; membership; terms; powers and duties;
10 voting; compensation

12 B.(1) The board of directors shall be composed of thirteen fourteen persons
13 as follows:

15 (f) The member of the governing authority of the city of New Orleans in
16 whose election district the center's main campus is located or his designee.

Abstract: Adds a member of the city council of New Orleans to the membership of the
board of directors for the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
Present law provides for the creation of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Further
provides for the creation of a board of directors to be composed of 13 members.
Proposed law adds to the board of directors, the member who is from the governing authority
of the city of New Orleans in whose election district the center's main campus is located or
his designee. Otherwise retains present law.
