1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 11:1869, relative to payment of employee contributions to the Municipal
3 Employees' Retirement System; to authorize payment of all or part of such
4 contributions by the city of Mandeville; and to provide for related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 and Article X, Section
7 29(C) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 11:1869 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 ยง1869. Employee contributions; city of Mandeville
11 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the city of Mandeville,
12 at its discretion, may pay to the system, from its own funds, all or a portion of the
13 employee contributions referenced in this Chapter and take appropriate legal and
14 administrative action to otherwise be in compliance with local, state, and federal
15 laws. The payments authorized pursuant to this Section shall become effective thirty
16 days after a favorable vote of the governing authority authorizing the use of
17 additional public funds that would otherwise be deducted from employees' salaries.

1 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on June 30, 2015; if vetoed by the
2 governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on
3 June 30, 2015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
