COURTS/COURT COSTS:  Authorizes a fee increase in recording fees for the East Baton
Rouge Parish Clerk of Court
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 13:844(F), relative to recordation fees in district courts; to authorize an
3 increase in recordation fees collected by the clerk of court for the Nineteenth Judicial
4 District; to provide for the collection and use of fees; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 13:844(F) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
8 ยง844.  Fees of ex officio recorders

10	F.  In addition to the fees provided in Subsection A of this Section, the clerk
11 of the Nineteenth Judicial District for the parish of East Baton Rouge may demand
12 and receive additional fees in an amount not to exceed sixty dollars.  The funds so
13 derived by the clerk shall be deposited into the Nineteenth Judicial District Court's
14 building fund and expended exclusively for the payment of bond indebtedness.

Present law authorizes clerks of the district courts as ex officio recorders to charge certain
fees relative to the filing and recording of certain documents.
Proposed law retains present law and authorizes the clerk of the 19
th
 JDC to charge an
additional fee not to exceed $60 to be deposited into the court's judicial building fund and
used solely to pay bond indebtedness.
