APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds to BESE for payment of attorney
fees and costs in the matter of "P.B., by and through his next friend, Cassandra
Berry, et al. vs. John White, et al."
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for payment
4 of plaintiffs' attorney fees and costs as set forth in the consent judgment in the suit
5 entitled "P.B., by and through his next friend, Cassandra Berry, et al. v. John White,
6 et al."; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The sum of Seven Hundred Thousand and No/100 ($700,000.00) Dollars
9is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year
102015-2016 to the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for the payment
11of plaintiffs' attorney fees and costs as set forth in the consent judgment in the suit entitled
12"P.B., by and through his next friend, Cassandra Berry, et al. v. John White, et al.", bearing
13Number 2:10-cv-04049, Section A, on the docket of the United States District Court for the
14Eastern District of Louisiana.
15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
16and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
172015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
