A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Klara and Drago Cvitanovich, owners of Drago's Seafood Restaurant, upon
receiving the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Orleans
Wine and Food Experience.
WHEREAS, the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award is named in honor of
famed restaurateur Ella Brennan of Commander's Palace, and it recognizes people who
display a "lifetime commitment to the hospitality industry"; and
WHEREAS, in 1969, Klara and Drago Cvitanovich opened Drago's Seafood
Restaurant and have since turned charbroiled oysters into a famous dish that has become
essential to the New Orleans diet; on a busy day, the restaurant serves over 10,000
charbroiled oysters; and
WHEREAS, Klara and Drago Cvitanovich operate three restaurants, and the couple's
love for the city of New Orleans is inspiring to everyone around them as they continue to
epitomize hospitality in every aspect; and
WHEREAS, Klara and Drago Cvitanovich have been dedicated members of the
Louisiana Restaurant Association since 1991; and
WHEREAS, for over forty-six years, Klara and Drago Cvitanovich have represented
all that is good about this state and have left an incredible mark on the minds and hearts of
everyone who has dined at Drago's Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, Klara and Drago Cvitanovich merit a special measure of commendation
for their outstanding service to the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Klara and Drago Cvitanovich upon receiving the 2014 Ella Brennan Lifetime
Achievement Award from the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience; does hereby
recognize their extraordinary service to the people of New Orleans and to the state of
Louisiana; and does hereby record for posterity their outstanding achievements and singular
contributions to the restaurant industry in the state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Klara and Drago Cvitanovich.
