HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 123
BY REPRESENTATIVE ST. GERMAIN
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority for more than forty years of service
to the state of Louisiana.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority (LPFA) promotes, encourages,
and furthers the accomplishment of all activities beneficial to the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the LPFA supports economic growth across the state by helping finance
projects and programs that serve as engines for local and state economies; and
WHEREAS, the LPFA strives to further education, healthcare, economic
development, and job creation in Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, since 1974, the LPFA has issued more than twenty billion dollars in
bonds for nonprofit organizations and businesses; the LPFA plays a direct role in economic
growth and job creation by providing qualifying entities with the means to receive tax-
exempt financing to achieve interest cost savings; and
WHEREAS, LPFA has facilitated economic activities, leading to 7,512 jobs per year;
and
WHEREAS, in addition to its work with public and private entities, the LPFA
remains committed in making higher education accessible to Louisiana students through its
education division, the Louisiana Education Loan Authority; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the efforts of the LPFA in making
Louisiana a better place to live, work, and call home, and to congratulate the LPFA upon its
forty years of service to the state of Louisiana.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority for its forty years of service to Louisiana
and does hereby extend to the LPFA every good wish for success in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to James W. Parks, II, president and CEO of the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority.
