ENROLLED 2015 Regular Session HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 76 BY REPRESENTATIVE ST. GERMAIN A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION To recognize Monday, April 27, 2015, as Concrete Day at the state capitol. WHEREAS, the Concrete and Aggregates Association of Louisiana was founded in 1989; and WHEREAS, the Concrete and Aggregates Association of Louisiana is aligned with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association, the Portland Cement Association, the American Concrete Paving Association - Louisiana Chapter, the American Concrete Pipe Association, and the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association; and WHEREAS, the Concrete and Aggregates Association of Louisiana educates the construction community about environmentally friendly concrete products and practices, including ways that building with concrete can help a project achieve LEED certification, reduce the urban heat island effect, and recycle materials that would otherwise have to be placed in a landfill; and WHEREAS, the concrete industry includes ready mix producers, contractors, cement and admixture salespersons, block producers, flatwork finishers, bulk haulers, testing labs, and suppliers of concrete pipe, precast, stone, sand, gravel, equipment, and materials who represent twenty-seven thousand employees for an estimated industry impact of over four billion dollars; and WHEREAS, the Louisiana Legislature recognizes the concrete industry as important to furthering development in our state and appreciates the hard work, dedication, and the efficiency of its employees. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Monday, April 27, 2015, as Concrete Day at the state capitol.
