HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 103
BY REPRESENTATIVE JACKSON
A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Avery
DeShunn Page, Sr.
WHEREAS, October 10, 1976, brought great joy to the life of Clifton Page and
Carolyn Greenleaf-Hadnot, when Avery DeShunn Page made his entry to Earth in Little
Rock, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, at the age of ten years, Avery accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his
personal savior, and was baptized into the family of God at Greater Paradise Missionary
Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, a lover of music and a self-taught drummer, Avery Page was a member
of his school band in the Little Rock School District; as a computer programming student
at Remington College, Avery worked in the GPC Clinic at Arkansas Children's Hospital; and
WHEREAS, heeding the call of God to preach the Gospel at the age of eighteen,
Rev. Page preached his first sermon; he was a fruitful laborer for his Lord in God's vineyard
who spent time traveling the world, spreading the Gospel with his pastor, Bishop Charles E.
Williams; and on May 17, 2015, Rev. Page completed his earthly assignment in the
Kingdom, vacating his post as the executive assistant pastor of Covenant of Zion Cathedral
Church for his eternal assignment; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Page served as assistant director of Stop the Violence and was a
funeral home operations manager; his exemplary work as a mortician led to an appointment
in 2005 to the Arkansas Burial Board; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 2014, Rev. Page married the love of his life, Lady Tameka
Page; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Page and his wife Lady Tameka Page were close friends of
Representative Katrina R. Jackson; and
WHEREAS, with a heart for God's people and a love of using his talents to assist
others, the legacy of service left by Rev. Page will forever remain in the hearts and minds
of those who knew and loved him.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend sincere condolences to the family of Avery
Deshunn Page, Sr., as they mourn his passing and does hereby express heartfelt sympathies
to all whose lives were touched by Rev. Page.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Rev. Avery Deshunn Page, Sr.
