ENROLLED 2015 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 107 BY REPRESENTATIVE MORENO A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Lynne G. Piglia Marino. WHEREAS, on Monday, May 18, 2015, Lynne G. Piglia Marino departed from this realm at the age of seventy-eight from the comfort of her home and family to her eternal rest; and WHEREAS, Lynne Piglia Marino raised her four children as a single mother while working two jobs and attending night school, a testament to her character and strength; and WHEREAS, Ms. Marino was an administrative assistant at Pelican Printing, worked at the Pontchartrain Hotel, was an office manager for Pan American Life, was the accountant for Ed White and Associates for more than thirty-one years, and was a past president for both the New Orleans' Secretary's Association and the National Secretary's Association; and WHEREAS, after the abduction and murder in 2002 of her daughter, Pam Piglia Kinamore, Ms. Marino was the driving force in the investigation that lead to the arrest and conviction of the serial killer; her efforts galvanized family members of other victims, shed light on the lack of funding for DNA testing in Louisiana, and procured adequate funding for such testing; and WHEREAS, Ms. Marino traveled across the country, helping the families of victims through news and television appearances on CNN and "America's Most Wanted"; she was interviewed by newspapers and other publications such as People Magazine, and she was a national spokesperson for Victims and Citizens Against Crime; and WHEREAS, after Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Marino relocated to Gonzales and worked with the Civic Association; she loved working in her garden, traveling the world, and was an avid collector of fine antiques and true friends; and Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 107 ENROLLED WHEREAS, fond recollections of good times shared with Lynne Piglia Marino will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her children, Edward Piglia, Jr., and wife Kathleen, Nancy Piglia Thomas and husband Gerard, and Ellen Piglia White and husband Ed; her beloved sister, Carol Gautreaux LeBlanc and husband Jesse; and her twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of Lynne G. Piglia Marino as they mourn her passing and does hereby offer best hopes for comfort and peace.
