COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Wilson Global Initiative and its founder, Chance
Wilson, for their efforts to innovate education around the world

2To commend the Wilson Global Initiative and its founder, Chance Wilson, for their efforts
3 to innovate education around the world.
4 WHEREAS, the Wilson Global Initiative is an international nonprofit organization
5that is dedicated to eliminating illiteracy in low-income communities around the world; and
6 WHEREAS, through various projects, such as reading programs, book drives, and
7building campaigns, the Wilson Global Initiative has taken steps to bring about change in
8the Baton Rouge area; and
9 WHEREAS, the Wilson Global Initiative actively seeks to create change around the
10world, such as in the city of Guangzhou, China, where the organization is in partnership with
11the United States Embassy to help Chinese students learn the English language; and
12 WHEREAS, the Wilson Global Initiative was founded by Chance Wilson; Chance
13is a fifteen-year-old high school freshman who is determined to use his imagination to
14change the world; and
15 WHEREAS, Chance is driven to ensure that all children, regardless of their current
16situation, are able to read and write; and
17 WHEREAS, Chance merits a special measure of commendation for his remarkable
18efforts to serve his community of Baton Rouge and to help eradicate illiteracy around the
19world; and
20 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the Wilson Global Initiative and its
21founder, Chance Wilson, for their efforts to innovate education around the world.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Wilson Global Initiative and its founder,
3Chance Wilson, for their hard work and dedication to revitalize education around the world.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
5to Chance Wilson.
