HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 160
BY REPRESENTATIVES CARTER, FOIL, LEBAS, MIGUEZ, AND OURSO
A RESOLUTION
To commend Robert William Desha Martin upon his receipt of the National Eagle Scout
Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project
of the Year Award.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Robert William Desha Martin on the
occasion of his receipt of the National Eagle Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W.
Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service
Project of the Year Award recognizes valuable service of an exceptional nature by a Scout
to a religious institution, school, community, or other entity; and
WHEREAS, Robert William Desha Martin is a member of Boy Scout Troop 7,
sponsored by St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, originally, Robert's service project, "Touch & See:  Saluting Louisiana's
Blind & Visually Impaired Veterans", was a project to raise funds for the placement of a
bronze Braille American Flag at the War Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana; his
fundraiser was so successful that he was able to place a bronze Braille American Flag at all
five War Veterans Homes in the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Robert William Desha Martin merits a special measure of
commendation for his outstanding service project and upon his receipt of the National Eagle
Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project
of the Year Award.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Robert William Desha Martin of Boy Scout
Troop 7 upon his receipt of the National Eagle Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda

W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award and does hereby
recognize his dedication to improving the health and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Robert William Desha Martin.
