A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to Lafayette Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
during his tenure as a distinguished member and speaker pro tempore of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
WHEREAS, Joel Robideaux is a notable public servant who has served with
excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2004, during which time he has
fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable
and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School in Lafayette,
Representative Robideaux received a bachelor of science degree from the University of
Southwestern Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a
master of science degree from Louisiana State University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux has been a proud member of the Acadiana
Delegation, the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, and the Louisiana Rural
Caucus; and
WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux's diligent committee service has included
serving as the chairman of the House Committee on Retirement and the House Committee

on Ways and Means, and he has served as a member of the House Committee on Civil Law
and Procedure, the House Committee on Natural Resources, the Joint Legislative Committee
on Capital Outlay, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, and the State Bond
Commission; and
WHEREAS, Representative Robideaux served with great effectiveness and
distinction as speaker pro tempore from 2010 until 2012; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
Robideaux has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Robideaux merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
the Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux; does
hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
particularly during his tenure as a member and speaker pro tempore of the Louisiana House
of Representatives, which has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the
welfare of his constituents in Lafayette Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and
does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated
his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Robideaux for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Honorable Joel C. Robideaux.
