GERMAIN, STOKES, TALBOT, THIBAUT, THIERRY, WHITNEY, ALFRED WILLIAMS, PATRICK WILLIAMS, WILLMOTT, AND WOODRUFF A RESOLUTION To commend the Honorable Timothy G. "Tim" Burns and to express enduring gratitude for his outstanding contributions to St. Tammany Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. WHEREAS, Tim Burns is a notable public servant who has served with excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2004, during which time he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable and dedicated manner; and WHEREAS, Representative Tim Burns received a bachelor of arts degree in economics, a master of business administration and a juris doctor degree from Tulane University; and WHEREAS, Representative Tim Burns has been a proud member of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation; and WHEREAS, his diligent committee service has included serving as the chairman of the House Committee on Civil Law and Procedure and the House Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, and he also served as a member of the House Committee on Health Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 170 ENROLLED and Welfare, the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the House Committee on Judiciary, and the Legislative Budgetary Control Council; and WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Tim Burns has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation, including but not limited to legislation calling for additional public notice requirements related to increases in millage rates that do not require voter approval; and WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter of his life, Representative Tim Burns merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Timothy G. "Tim" Burns; does hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in St. Tammany Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Tim Burns for his service to the citizens of Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
