A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to the parishes of Bienville, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita,
and Winn and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished
member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
WHEREAS, Jim Fannin is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
as a state representative since taking office in 2003, during which time he has fully used
every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable and
dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School, Representative Fannin
received a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana Tech University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Fannin has been a proud member of the Louisiana
Republican Legislative Delegation and the Louisiana Rural Caucus; and
WHEREAS, Representative Fannin's diligent committee service has included serving
as the chairman for the House Committee on Appropriations and the Joint Legislative
Committee on the Budget, and he has served as a member of the House Committee on
Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Rural Development, the House Committee on

Education, the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the House
Committee on Commerce, the House Committee on Natural Resources, the House
Legislative Services Council, the Legislative Budgetary Control Council, the Joint
Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, and the State Bond Commission; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the Louisiana House of Representatives,
Representative Fannin has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation,
including but not limited to state appropriation bills; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Fannin merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin; does
hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments,
particularly during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
has been marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents
in the parishes of Bienville, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita, and Winn and the citizens of the
state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in
which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends,
community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Fannin for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and hereby extends to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Honorable James R. "Jim" Fannin.
