HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 226
BY REPRESENTATIVE SMITH
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Darren Domoine Rutledge for his outstanding
accomplishments
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend Darren Domoine Rutledge for his outstanding accomplishments.
3 WHEREAS, Darren Domoine Rutledge is the son of Domoine and Sharmayne
4Rutledge; and
5 WHEREAS, he is a recent graduate of McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School
6and the previous vice president of the Louisiana State Junior Beta Club; and
7 WHEREAS, while obtaining an education at McKinley Middle Academic Magnet
8School, Darren was an active member of many organizations; he served as a student
9ambassador for two years, was elected as Mr. Seventh Grade and Mr. McKinley, was a
10three-year member of the soccer and swim team, a member of the step team and golf team,
11and was an honor student throughout his years at McKinley Middle Academic Magnet
12School; and
13 WHEREAS, due to his outstanding academic record, Darren was in the top twenty-
14five highest grade point averages and was chosen to deliver the commencement speech for
15his graduating class; and
16 WHEREAS, he also serves as a People to People Student Ambassador, a program
17founded by former United States President Dwight Eisenhower with a vision of a world
18where young people of different countries would meet and get to know each other while
19fostering lasting peace and making a difference; and

1 WHEREAS, as a People to People Student Ambassador, Darren has traveled to
2Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and France; this
3summer, Darren will travel to Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia; and
4 WHEREAS, he has served as an outstanding member of the beta club for three years,
5and in recognition of his hard work and determination, Darren was elected as the state-wide
6vice president; and
7 WHEREAS, Darren plans to further his education at Baton Rouge Magnet High
8School; and
9 WHEREAS, Darren Domoine Rutledge merits a sincere measure of commendation
10for the honor he brings to his school, his community, and the state of Louisiana with his
11singular achievements and his unwavering dedication.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
13Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Darren Domoine Rutledge upon his
14outstanding accomplishments and does hereby extend to him best wishes for success and
15happiness in his future endeavors.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
17to Darren Domoine Rutledge.
