COMMENDAT IONS: Commends Kat Caillier and Team Kat for their efforts in raising
breast cancer awareness
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Team Kat for their outstanding fundraising efforts in the Susan G. Komen
3 Race for the Cure event, and to commend Kat Caillier upon being named the 2015
4 Race for the Cure Honoree and the Team New Balance Honorary Member for the
5 Susan G. Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure that was held on Saturday, March 21,
6 2015.
7 WHEREAS, Kat Caillier is an inspiration to all around her as a six-year breast cancer
8survivor and a loving mother and grandmother; and
9 WHEREAS, Kat Caillier was selected as a Race for the Cure honoree in recognition
10of her personal perseverance against breast cancer and her dedication to raising breast cancer
11awareness; and
12 WHEREAS, Kat Caillier's family formed Team Kat to raise money in her honor;
13Team Kat raises funds through football pools, hunting pools, comedy events, and their
14"Rai$ing Mud for the Cure" event which features people mudding in all-terrain vehicles; and
15 WHEREAS, Kat Caillier and Team Kat are avid advocates of breast cancer health
16services; they have helped with educational events to bring breast cancer awareness to
17communities in Louisiana, and they volunteer their time in the Komen Acadiana office to
18help with various activities; and
19 WHEREAS, Kat Caillier and Team Kat deserve the highest measure of
20commendation for the courage, commitment, and tremendous pride and honor they bring to
21St. Martin Parish and the state of Louisiana.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Kat Caillier upon being named the 2015
3Race for the Cure Honoree and Team New Balance Honorary Member for the Susan G.
4Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure event and does hereby commend Team Kat for their
5outstanding fundraising efforts in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
7to Kat Caillier.
