HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 31

A RESOLUTION
To commend Team Kat for their outstanding fundraising efforts in the Susan G. Komen
Race for the Cure event, and to commend Kat Caillier upon being named the 2015
Race for the Cure Honoree and the Team New Balance Honorary Member for the
Susan G. Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure that was held on Saturday, March 21,
2015.
WHEREAS, Kat Caillier is an inspiration to all around her as a six-year breast cancer
survivor and a loving mother and grandmother; and
WHEREAS, Kat Caillier was selected as a Race for the Cure honoree in recognition
of her personal perseverance against breast cancer and her dedication to raising breast cancer
awareness; and
WHEREAS, Kat Caillier's family formed Team Kat to raise money in her honor;
Team Kat raises funds through football pools, hunting pools, comedy events, and their
"Rai$ing Mud for the Cure" event which features people mudding in all-terrain vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Kat Caillier and Team Kat are avid advocates of breast cancer health
services; they have helped with educational events to bring breast cancer awareness to
communities in Louisiana, and they volunteer their time in the Komen Acadiana office to
help with various activities; and
WHEREAS, Kat Caillier and Team Kat deserve the highest measure of
commendation for the courage, commitment, and tremendous pride and honor they bring to
St. Martin Parish and the state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Kat Caillier upon being named the 2015
Race for the Cure Honoree and Team New Balance Honorary Member for the Susan G.

Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure event and does hereby commend Team Kat for their
outstanding fundraising efforts in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Kat Caillier.
