HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 34
BY REPRESENTATIVE HOWARD
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Anacoco High School boys' basketball team upon winning its first state
championship.
WHEREAS, the Anacoco Indians captured the Class B title in a commanding 62-48
victory over Midland High School in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Top 28
tournament, giving the Anacoco boys' basketball team its first state championship; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Tracy Reese prepared the Indians by instilling in the team
a work ethic that will continue to provide the confidence and skills needed to equip these
young men for success in the future; and
WHEREAS, junior guard/forward Will Reese rose to the occasion in the
championship game by leading Anacoco with a game-high twenty-six points, nine rebounds,
and two blocked shots and was voted Most Outstanding Player in Class B, and senior guard
Samuel Turnipseed posted nineteen points and eight rebounds in the thrilling title game; and
WHEREAS, the decisive victory was a fitting end to a run of nineteen straight wins
in the Indians' 32-10 season; and
WHEREAS, all members of the Anacoco High School boys' basketball team deserve
recognition for outstanding performances throughout the year: seniors Samuel Turnipseed,
Casey Haymon, Will Schrieber, Bret Phillips, Aaron Norris, Dakota Moore, Austin
Williams, and Kade Hornsby; juniors Will Reese and Caleb Reese; sophomores Brent Cosio,
Hunter McCrary, and Trace Goins; freshmen Cole Moore and Julian Cecil; coaches Tracy
Reese and Brad Prichard; managers Karlie Robison and Kellen Haymon; trainer Tristan
Nicholas; and statistician Jordan Toney; and
WHEREAS, the 2015 Anacoco High School boys' basketball team brings a
tremendous sense of honor and immense pride to its school and community and the state of

Louisiana, and it is appropriate to commend these champions upon winning their first state
title.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the Anacoco High School
boys' basketball team athletes, coaches, and support staff upon winning the 2015 Class B
state championship at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Top 28 tournament
and for completing a successful 2014-2015 season that exemplifies the dedicated
performances of all the individuals involved in this fine program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Head Coach Tracy Reese.
