A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Jeffrey Brice
"Dukes" Dukes.
WHEREAS, the members of the House of Representatives were saddened to learn
of the passing on May 14, 2015, of Jeffrey Brice "Dukes" Dukes; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey Dukes was born in Hammond on August 23, 1982, and upon
graduation from Hammond High School was employed as a tankerman for Florida Marine
Transport; and
WHEREAS, countless precious memories of good times shared with "Dukes" will
forever remain in the hearts and minds of his parents, James and Susan Fields Dukes; sister
Ruth and brother-in-law Josh Detwiler; brother Will and sister-in-law Kim Dukes;
grandmother Nancy Dillard and step-grandfather Frank Silliker; grandmother Dorothy "Dot"
Dukes; and nephew Kyle and nieces Caroline and Claudia Detwiler.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express deepest condolences to the family and friends
of Jeffrey Brice "Dukes" Dukes as they mourn his passing and does hereby extend sincere
and heartfelt sympathies and offer prayers for comfort and peace.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Jeffrey Brice "Dukes" Dukes.
