HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 9
BY REPRESENTATIVES BROADWATER AND EDWARDS
A RESOLUTION
To commend Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett upon his selection to attend West Point's Summer
Leaders Experience program.
WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett is a junior at Hammond High Magnet School;
and
WHEREAS, more than five thousand high school juniors nationwide applied for the
Summer Leaders Experience program; and
WHEREAS, the program offers outstanding high school juniors an opportunity to
experience life at the United States Military Academy at West Point by living in the cadet
barracks, eating in the cadet mess hall, and participating in academic, leadership, athletic, and
military workshops; and
WHEREAS, the program helps high school juniors with selecting colleges and
developing leadership and decision-making skills; and
WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett will participate in virtual-reality war
simulation, military and physical fitness training, and leadership workshops; and
WHEREAS, Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett merits the highest commendation and most
sincere congratulations upon his selection to attend the prestigious West Point's Summer
Leaders Experience program.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature
of Louisiana does hereby commend Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett for the outstanding commitment
and leadership he has shown as a Hammond High Magnet School cadet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Cadet Malik Donte Jarrett.
