ENROLLED 2015 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 93 BY REPRESENTATIVE THIERRY A RESOLUTION To commend Lillian Cains Guillory upon the celebration of her one hundredth birthday. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Lillian Cains Guillory upon the joyous and momentous occasion of her one hundredth birthday; and WHEREAS, born on April 29, 1915, in Waxia, Louisiana, to Monroe Cains, Sr., and Agnes Byrd Cains, Ms. Guillory is the third of four children born in her family; and WHEREAS, she was married to Samuel Guillory; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guillory is a devoted and life-long member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, where she has served as the financial secretary, missionary president, and president of the senior choir; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guillory is a caring, nurturing, and loving person who always has a smile on her face; she is the matriarch of her family and is known as "Myrain" by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great- great-great nieces, and great-great-great nephews; and WHEREAS, among her treasured hobbies are fishing and singing; Ms. Guillory is a wonderful soloist and has had a long and fruitful involvement with her church's choir; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guillory worked in a school cafeteria and has always had a passion for cooking for others; and WHEREAS, Lillian Cains Guillory merits a special measure of commendation for the pride and honor that she brings to her family, friends, church, community, and the state of Louisiana. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Lillian Cains Guillory upon the celebration Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 93 ENROLLED of her one hundredth birthday and does hereby wish her full measures of health and happiness in the years to come.
