Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 48:753(G), relative to the Parish Transportation Fund; to provide relative to
3 funds distributed to Calcasieu Parish; to authorize the use of funds for the
4 beautification of rights-of-way along Interstates 10 and 210 within Calcasieu Parish;
5 to authorize the use of funds for certain capacity improvements within Calcasieu
6 Parish; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 48:753(G) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
9 ยง753.  Use of the fund

11	G.(1) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, and
12 particularly any contrary provision of this Section, the governing authority of
13 Calcasieu Parish may use a portion of the monies it has been allocated from the
14 Parish Transportation Fund to perform additional work as follows:
15	(a) To fund or perform landscaping and maintenance improvements
16 along interstate highway rights-of-way within Calcasieu Parish.
17	(b) To fund or construct capacity improvements to state highways within
18 Calcasieu Parish in accordance with Louisiana Department of Transportation
19 and Development standards.

1	(2) The additional work shall be performed, provided that the project
2 cost does not exceed the contract limit as defined by R.S. 38:2212, and provided
3 that the Calcasieu Parish governing authority indemnifies the state for any loss
4 or injury arising therefrom.
