Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact the introductory paragraph of R.S. 13:5554(G)(3) and (3)(b), relative
3 to the payment of group insurance premium costs; to provide for eligibility for
4 payment of such costs for retired sheriffs and retired deputy sheriffs of the West
5 Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The introductory paragraph of R.S. 13:5554(G)(3) and (3)(b) are hereby
8 amended and reenacted to read as follows: 
9 ยง5554. Group insurance; kinds; amounts; subrogation

13	(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection D of this Section, in the
14 parish of West Baton Rouge, one hundred percent of the premium costs of group
15 hospital, surgical, and medical expense and insurance and the first ten thousand
16 dollars of life insurance contracted for under the provisions of this Section shall be
17 paid in full from the sheriff's general fund for any sheriff and full-time deputy sheriff
18 who has retired from the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and who is
19 entitled to receive monthly benefits from the Sheriff's Sheriffs' Pension and Relief
20 Fund and who has either of the following:

1	(b) At least thirty years of full-time service with the West Baton Rouge
2 Parish Sheriff's Office or more of service credit with the Sheriffs' Pension and
3 Relief Fund, regardless of age.
