GAMBLING.  Provides relative to the casino operating contract.  (gov sig)
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 27:244(A)(3), (B), and (C), relative to the contract to conduct
3 casino gaming operations; to provide relative to certain requirements relative to
4 casino gaming operations; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 27:244(A)(3), (B), and (C) are hereby amended and reenacted to read
7 as follows:
8 ยง244. Contract to conduct casino gaming operations; other requirements; breach of
9	contract
10	A. In addition to the requirements of R.S. 27:241 through 243, the casino
11 operating contract shall include provisions requiring the casino operator to do the
12 following:

14	(3) Conduct gaming operations and provide such other services as required
15 by the proposal to conduct casino gaming operations authorized under the
16 provisions of the Casino Gaming Operating Contract.

1	B. The parties to the casino operating contract shall negotiate the reciprocal
2 terms and elements of default, curative measures, remedies, and damages, and the
3 requirements contained in the provisions of R.S. 27:244(A)(1) through (12).
4	C. The casino operating contract and any amendments when executed by
5 the board and the applicant shall constitute the authority of the applicant to conduct
6 the activities authorized by such contract and such any amendments in accordance
7 with law.
8 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
9 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
10 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
11 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
12 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law, relative to the contract to conduct casino gaming operations, requires the casino
operator to conduct gaming operations and provide such other services as required by the
proposal to conduct casino gaming operations.
Proposed law requires the casino operator to conduct gaming operations and provide such
other services as authorized by the Casino Gaming Operating Contract.
Present law requires the parties to the casino operating contract to negotiate the reciprocal
terms and elements of default, curative measures, remedies, and damages.
Proposed law retains present law and adds an additional requirement for the parties to
negotiate the reciprocal terms for present law requirements.
Present law provides that the casino operating contract when executed by the board and the
applicant constitutes the authority of the applicant to conduct the activities authorized by
such contract.
Proposed law retains present law and adds any amendments when executed by the board and
the applicant constitutes the authority of the applicant to conduct the activities authorized
by such contract and such any amendments.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
