SLS 15RS-240 ORIGINAL 2015 Regular Session SENATE BILL NO. 72 BY SENATOR ERDEY COURTS. Authorizes the Walker Municipal Court to impose an additional court cost in traffic violation cases. (gov sig) 1 AN ACT 2 To enact R.S. 33:447.15, relative to court costs authorized in mayor's courts; to provide for 3 additional court costs for traffic matters in the Walker Municipal Court; to provide 4 for the collection and disposition of funds; and to provide for related matters. 5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 33:447.15 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง447.15. Walker Municipal Court; traffic matters; additional costs 8 A. Except as otherwise provided by law, in all traffic violation cases, the 9 presiding officer of the Walker Municipal Court may assess, in addition to any 10 other fine or other penalty that may be legally imposed, costs of court in an 11 amount not to exceed fifty dollars. 12 B. Except as otherwise provided by law, the proceeds derived from these 13 costs shall be deposited in a special account which shall be subject to audit, and 14 shall be used to defray the operational expenses of the Walker Police 15 Department. 16 Section 2.
