Clement, Jr. DIGEST SCR 29 Original 2015 Regular Session Morrell Extends the study and reporting deadline of the Capital Punishment Fiscal Impact Commission until January 1, 2018, and extends the termination date of the commission to no later than January 2, 2018. Further provides that the Capital Punishment Fiscal Impact Commission was created by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 54 of the 2014 Regular Session to study the fiscal impact of capital punishment in this state. Further provides that Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 54 of the 2014 Regular Session requires the commission to report its findings and recommendations, including suggestions for proposed legislation, to the chairman of the Senate Judiciary B Committee, the chairman of the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice, and the legislature, no later than January 1, 2016. Further provides that Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 54 of the 2014 Regular Session requires the commission to terminate no later than January 2, 2016. Further provides that the commission has determined that additional time is required to study fully the fiscal impact of capital punishment in this state and to complete and submit its report as required by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 54 of the 2014 Regular Session. Further provides that the date by which the commission is to submit the report required by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 54 to the chairman of the Senate Judiciary B Committee, the chairman of the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice, and the legislature, is extended to no later than January 1, 2018. Further provides that the date by which the commission is to terminate is extended to no later than January 2, 2018.
