COMMENDATIONS. Commends Kevin Troy Faulk on being named to the 2015 Louisiana
Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend and congratulate Kevin Troy Faulk on being named to the 2015 Louisiana
3 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class.
4 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in Natchitoches, Louisiana, each year
5 collaborates with the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in selecting a limited number of
6 sports figures who embody the character, skill, and talents worthy of being named to the hall
7 of fame; and
8 WHEREAS, the 2015 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class includes
9 football legend Kevin Troy Faulk; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Faulk was born on June 5, 1976, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and began
11 his successful football career at Carencro High School in Carencro, Louisiana, where he
12 helped his team win the 1992 Class 5A State Championship; and
13 WHEREAS, following high school, he attended Louisiana State University and
14 Agricultural and Mechanical College, where he immediately became the starting running
15 back for the school's football team, and in 1996 was voted to the College Football All-
16 America Team by the Associated Press; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. Faulk finished his career with LSU with four thousand five hundred
18 fifty-seven yards rushing in forty-one games, which was the second best record in

1 Southeastern Conference history behind the legendary Herschel Walker of Georgia; and
2 WHEREAS, in 1999, he was selected by the New England Patriots and quickly
3 earned a reputation as a dependable and speedy running back who could scratch out the
4 tough yards and as a capable receiver; and
5 WHEREAS, during his successful career with the Patriots, he won three Super Bowl
6 rings, rushed for three thousand six hundred and seven yards, caught four hundred thirty-one
7 passes for three thousand seven hundred and one yards, and scored a total of thirty-one
8 touchdowns; and
9 WHEREAS, he was a stand-out kick returner, averaging over twenty-two yards with
10 two touchdowns on one hundred eighty-one kickoff returns; and
11 WHEREAS, On October 9, 2012, Kevin Faulk announced his retirement at a
12 ceremony at the Hall at Patriot Place; and
13 WHEREAS, the successful football career of Kevin Troy Faulk has rightly earned
14 him a place along the many greats in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
16 commend and congratulate Kevin Troy Faulk on being named to the 2015 Louisiana Sports
17 Hall of Fame Induction Class.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
19 Kevin Troy Faulk.
