SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
BY SENATORS PERRY AND CORTEZ 
A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Keith Thomas Reed on completing the 2015 Memorial
Hermann Ironman North American Championship Texas.
WHEREAS, Keith Thomas Reed competed in the 2015 Memorial Hermann Ironman
North American Championship Texas on May 16, 2015, at The Woodlands, Texas; and 
WHEREAS, an Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races
organized by the World Triathlon Corporation consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a
112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride, and a 26.2-mile (42.2 km) marathon, raced in that order
and without a break and it is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting
events in the world; and
WHEREAS, most Ironman events have a strict time limit of seventeen hours to
complete the race and any participant who manages to complete the triathlon within these
timings becomes an ironman; and
WHEREAS, Keith Thomas Reed posted the following times:  swim time - one hour,
eighteen minutes and forty-three seconds (1:18:43), bike time - six hours, eleven minutes
and forty-nine seconds (6:11:49), and run time - six hours, thirty-four minutes and twenty
seconds (6:34:20). 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
hereby commends and congratulates Keith Thomas Reed on completing the 2015 Memorial
Hermann Ironman North American Championship Texas held at The Woodlands, Texas, on
May 16, 2015.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Keith Thomas Reed.
