SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 131

CONDOLENCES.  Expresses condolences on the death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the citizens of Louisiana
5 learned of the death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud on May 9, 2015, at the age of eighty-one; and
6 WHEREAS, Lloyd Francis Reynaud was born on August 21, 1933, in Lafayette,
7 Louisiana, to Carrison and Bernice Reynaud; and
8 WHEREAS, he attended St. Paul's Catholic School and in 1954, he graduated from
9 Holy Rosary Institute; and
10 WHEREAS, upon graduation, Mr. Reynaud served in the United States Army for two
11 years, after which he became a master plasterer; and
12 WHEREAS, he perfected his craft while working at J. W. Delahoussaye and Sons
13 Company until 1982; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working with his
15 hands, but his true talent, passion, and pride was as a plasterer; and
16 WHEREAS, after he retired, he shared his expertise in plastering and became a
17 construction consultant for many businesses, including Our Lady of Lourdes Regional
18 Medical Center and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist; and

1 WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud was preceded in death by his parents, Carrison and
2 Bernice Reynaud; a son, Keith Reynaud; and a brother, Herman Reynaud; and
3 WHEREAS, he is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years,
4 Margaret (Peggy) Reynaud; two daughters, Denise Reynaud and Wendi Reynaud-Sonnier;
5 one son, Cornel Reynaud; five grandchildren, Andre Reynaud, Reynauldo Sonnier,
6 Krislynn Sonnier, Kevin Reynaud, and Ashley Reynaud; two great-grandchildren,
7 Imani Reynaud and Cayden Sonnier; and two brothers, Carrison Reynaud Jr. and
8 Julius Reynaud; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud's greatest loves were his wife and his family, especially
10 his grandchildren; and
11 WHEREAS, with the death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud, Louisiana has lost one of its
12 finest citizens who was admired by all whose lives he touched and is greatly missed; and
13 WHEREAS, his passing has left a tremendous void in the Lafayette community, but
14 his love, smile, and personality shall remain eternal in the hearts and minds of his loved
15 ones, friends, and all who had the opportunity to meet and know him. 
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
17 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Lloyd Francis
18 Reynaud, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that this
19 wonderful gentleman brought to his family, friends, community, and state.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
21 family of Lloyd Francis Reynaud.
