SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 131

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the citizens of Louisiana
learned of the death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud on May 9, 2015, at the age of eighty-one; and
WHEREAS, Lloyd Francis Reynaud was born on August 21, 1933, in Lafayette,
Louisiana, to Carrison and Bernice Reynaud; and
WHEREAS, he attended St. Paul's Catholic School and in 1954, he graduated from
Holy Rosary Institute; and
WHEREAS, upon graduation, Mr. Reynaud served in the United States Army for two
years, after which he became a master plasterer; and
WHEREAS, he perfected his craft while working at J. W. Delahoussaye and Sons
Company until 1982; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working with his
hands, but his true talent, passion, and pride was as a plasterer; and
WHEREAS, after he retired, he shared his expertise in plastering and became a
construction consultant for many businesses, including Our Lady of Lourdes Regional
Medical Center and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud was preceded in death by his parents, Carrison and
Bernice Reynaud; a son, Keith Reynaud; and a brother, Herman Reynaud; and
WHEREAS, he is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years,
Margaret (Peggy) Reynaud; two daughters, Denise Reynaud and Wendi Reynaud-Sonnier;
one son, Cornel Reynaud; five grandchildren, Andre Reynaud, Reynauldo Sonnier,
Krislynn Sonnier, Kevin Reynaud, and Ashley Reynaud; two great-grandchildren,
Imani Reynaud and Cayden Sonnier; and two brothers, Carrison Reynaud Jr. and
Julius Reynaud; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Reynaud's greatest loves were his wife and his family, especially
his grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, with the death of Lloyd Francis Reynaud, Louisiana has lost one of its
finest citizens who was admired by all whose lives he touched and is greatly missed; and
WHEREAS, his passing has left a tremendous void in the Lafayette community, but
his love, smile, and personality shall remain eternal in the hearts and minds of his loved
ones, friends, and all who had the opportunity to meet and know him. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Lloyd Francis
Reynaud, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that this
wonderful gentleman brought to his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Lloyd Francis Reynaud.
