2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 133 BY SENATOR LONG A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Samuel Evan Phillips for being named the 2015 PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Junior in Accounting at Louisiana State University and to recognize his extraordinary accomplishments. WHEREAS, Samuel is a 2013 graduate of Ruston High School with a 4.0 grade point average; and WHEREAS, during his time at Ruston High School, Samuel was selected as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist; and WHEREAS, Samuel enrolled at Louisiana State University in the fall of 2013 and expects to graduate one full year early in May of 2016; and WHEREAS, Samuel is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and plans to pursue a Master of Science in Accounting upon graduation; and WHEREAS, Samuel maintains a 4.0 grade point average at Louisiana State University; and WHEREAS, Samuel Evan Phillips, the son of Gregg and Andrea Phillips and the grandson of Senator Gerald and Rose Long and Alice Phillips, is a talented Louisiana student who demonstrates a true commitment to excellence; and WHEREAS, he is hereby recognized and honored for this exemplary academic distinction as well as his deeds to improve and make a positive impact on his community, campus, and state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Samuel Evan Phillips for being named the 2015 PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Junior in Accounting at Louisiana State University, does hereby recognize his extraordinary accomplishments, and wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
