2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 139 BY SENATOR PEACOCK A RESOLUTION To recognize Tuesday, May 26, 2015, as "National Federation of Independent Business/ Louisiana Small Business Day" at the Louisiana State Capitol. WHEREAS, both governmental and private entities alike herald small businesses as the backbone of the American economy; and WHEREAS, founded in 1943 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a small business advocacy association that represents small and independent businesses before government policy makers in all fifty states and provides services to its member organizations; and WHEREAS, 350,000 small and independent business owners enjoy the camaraderie and beneficial nature of the NFIB through use of the federation's many products and services, such as commercial and health insurance; equipment maintenance and repair discounts; and marketing expertise designed to improve the reach of small businesses; and WHEREAS, the Young Entrepreneur Foundation, the Research Foundation, and the Small Business Legal Center are auxiliaries of the NFIB that serve young men and women in their business startups, conduct polls that provide strategic information to NFIB members, and offer legal services; and WHEREAS, NFIB/Louisiana Small Business Day at the capitol is Tuesday, May 26, 2015, and it is appropriate to recognize the contributions of small businesses in Louisiana to the thriving economy of the state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Tuesday, May 26, 2015, as "National Federation of Independent Business/Louisiana Small Business Day" at the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby commend small business owners and operators throughout the state.
