SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 192

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Civil Commander and Chief Civil Deputy Darrell
Guillory.
WHEREAS, Mr. Guillory was a veteran of the United States Navy, with a bachelor
of general studies degree from McNeese State University; and
WHEREAS, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Civil Commander and Chief Civil Deputy
Darrel Guillory's law enforcement career began in 1980, with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's
Office under Sheriff Wayne McElveen; and
WHEREAS, he graduated from the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement
Academy, the Chamber Southwest Louisiana Leadership School, and attended numerous law
enforcement training seminars, courses, and acquired many certifications; and
WHEREAS, in 2000, he began four years of pivotal law enforcement work with the
Lake Charles, Louisiana Ward 3 Marshal's Office; and
WHEREAS, Civil Commander Guillory returned to work at the Calcasieu Parish
Sheriff's Office in 2004 under Sheriff Tony Mancuso; and
WHEREAS, Sheriff Tony Mancuso said Commander Guillory was a great employee,
friend, and admired by the entire law enforcement community; and
WHEREAS, throughout the career of Civil Commander Guillory with the Calcasieu
Sheriff's Office, he made instrumental successes in many divisions including corrections,
and warrants and community relations, before becoming Civil Commander and Chief Civil
Deputy of the Civil Division in 2008; and
WHEREAS, after a brief illness, Civil Commander Darrell Guillory passed away at
the age of sixty-one; and
WHEREAS, left behind to love and miss him are his two brothers, Martin Guillory
and Merrill Guillory, and two sisters, Theresa Brignac and Janet Labbe; and
WHEREAS, he is preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Boutte Guillory; his father,
Gervis Guillory; and brothers, Ronald Guillory and Harvey Guillory.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express condolences upon the death of Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Civil
Commander and Chief Civil Deputy Darrell Guillory.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Martin Guillory, Merrill Guillory, Theresa Brignac, and Janet Labbe.
