2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 196 BY SENATOR MURRAY A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. was a retired longshoreman where he served as a delegate with the International Longshoremen's Association Union 3000; and WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the age of seventy-seven in Slidell, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. is survived by Rosalie M. Briant, his beloved spouse of fifty-nine years; and WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. is also survived by his sons and daughters- in-law, David Briant, Gregory Briant (Anita), and Mitchell Briant (Senedra), siblings Wheeler P. Briant Jr., Naomi Edgerson, Joyce Acres and Herbert Briant, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Wheeler P. Briant Sr. and Amelia Cousins, six siblings, and his beloved first-born son, Irvin Briant Jr.; and WHEREAS, Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. will be sorely missed by his family, friends and a host of relatives. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Irvin "Cobo" Jules Briant Sr. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE Page 1 of 1
