Creates the Orleans Parish Law Enforcement Streamline and Accountability Commission to
review and make recommendations on the effective and efficient delivery of law enforcement
services in Orleans Parish to consist of the following members:
(1)Two members of the Senate appointed by the president.
(2)Two members of the House of Representatives appointed by the speaker.
(3)The legislative auditor, or his designee.
(4)One member appointed by the mayor of the city of New Orleans from three names
submitted by the New Orleans City Council.
Requires the commission to perform detailed investigations and analysis of the following:
(1)The budget of each the New Orleans Police Department and the Orleans Parish
Sheriff's Office.
(2)The number of individuals employed at each the New Orleans Police Department and
the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, with a comprehensive listing of the number of
POST certified officers, administrative, and clerical personnel.
(3)The services provided by the employees of each New Orleans Police Department and
the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, with any economies of scale that could be
achieved by a merger of such services.
(4)The feasibility of any other efficiencies that can be realized through the streamlining
of law enforcement resources.
Provides for the commission to terminate on March 14, 2016.
