SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 228

A RESOLUTION
To commend Elaine and Robert Harper upon the occasion of their fiftieth wedding
anniversary.
WHEREAS, Robert Harper was born and raised in the Sixth Ward area; and
WHEREAS, Elaine Reavis Harper was born and lived most of her childhood years
in the New Orleans area before moving to Slidell, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Elaine and Robert Harper were married on June 26, 1965, in Pearl
River, Louisiana, at the house of Stella Jones; and
WHEREAS, standing as witnesses to the nuptials were Elaine and Charles Taylor;
and
WHEREAS, once married, the couple lived on Teat Blackwell Road in Pearl River,
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the couple are the proud parents of Robin, Jennifer, and Joy; and
WHEREAS, the couple are the proud grandparents of Heather, Julissa, Rodney,
Bethany, Destiny, Tyler, Brayden, and Brianna and step-grandchildren Danielle and
Timothy; and
WHEREAS, the couple are the proud great-grandparents of Bentley and step-great-
grandparents of Shane, Lindley, and Timothy.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend warmest congratulations to Elaine and Robert Harper upon the occasion
of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and does hereby express best wishes for many happy
years ahead.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Elaine and Robert Harper.
