2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43 BY SENATORS ADLEY, ALARIO, ALLAIN, AMEDEE, APPEL, BROOME, BROWN, BUFFINGTON, CHABERT, CLAITOR, CORTEZ, CROWE, DONAHUE, DORSEY-COLOMB, ERDEY, GALLOT, GUILLORY, HEITMEIER, JOHNS, KOSTELKA, LAFLEUR, LONG, MARTINY, MILLS, MORRELL, MORRISH, MURRAY, NEVERS, PEACOCK, PERRY, PETERSON, RISER, GARY SMITH, JOHN SMITH, TARVER, THOMPSON, WALSWORTH, WARD AND WHITE A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the family of United States Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player upon her untimely death. WHEREAS, Master Sergeant Sheilah Player was born at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland on May 15, 1976, to Senior Master Sergeant Lynwood Player Sr. USAF retired and Shirley Player; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player was the product of a career military family and at the age of four she and her family relocated to Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, Texas, where she attended Benbrook Elementary School; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player and her family later moved to Sacramento, California, where she attended Dudley Elementary School before attending Center High School where she graduated in 1994; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, before entering the United States Air Force in May of 1996, and she trained to become a Medical Technician Journeyman; and WHEREAS, she began her own family after her marriage to Jimmy Lucas of Mississippi, with the birth of Troi and Alex Lucas; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player was appointed in 1999, as the Medical Aero Evacuation team lead, assisting in operations around the world before her promotion to Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Commander Action Group at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player ended her marriage in 2010, and was subsequently engaged to Senior Master Sergeant Keith Castille, planning to marry in July of 2015; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 43 ENROLLED WHEREAS, MSGT Player was excited to begin a new life with him and his three sons and she and her son and daughter; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player had traveled extensively throughout the United States, the Pacific, and Europe during her career of more than seventeen years of service in the Air Force; and WHEREAS, MSGT Player served with great distinction during her military service but her true passion was for her children, family, friends, and fellow airmen, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend its deepest and most profound condolences to the family of United States Air Force Master Sergeant Sheilah Jeannine Player for their immeasurable loss and her dedicated service to the land she loved.
