2015 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 49 BY SENATORS ADLEY, ALARIO, ALLAIN, AMEDEE, APPEL, BROOME, BROWN, BUFFINGTON, CHABERT, CLAITOR, CORTEZ, CROWE, DONAHUE, DORSEY-COLOMB, ERDEY, GALLOT, GUILLORY, HEITMEIER, JOHNS, KOSTELKA, LAFLEUR, LONG, MARTINY, MILLS, MORRELL, MORRISH, MURRAY, NEVERS, PEACOCK, PERRY, PETERSON, RISER, GARY SMITH, JOHN SMITH, TARVER, THOMPSON, WALSWORTH, WARD AND WHITE A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the family of Louisiana Army National Guard Sergeant Michael Shane Soignier upon his death. WHEREAS, Michael Shane Soignier was a thirty-one-year-old native of West Monroe, Louisiana, who resided in Dubach, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, he was a heavy equipment operator for the 844th Engineer Company and deployed with that unit to Iraq in 2010, where he served with courage and dedication; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Soignier had a strong faith in God, gained when he attended St. Paschal's Catholic School and graduated from Ruston High School in 2001; and WHEREAS, he had a youthful passion for chasing cattle and driving tractors around his Paw and Maw's farm until his untimely death on February 15, 2015. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend its most sincere and profound condolences to the family of Louisiana Army National Guard Sergeant Michael Shane Soignier for their immeasurable loss and for his brave service in the global war on terrorism.
