SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 57

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its
outstanding achievements and designates April 27 through May 1, 2015, as Louisiana
Physical Therapy Association Week.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its outstanding achievements
3 and to designate April 27 through May 1, 2015, as Louisiana Physical Therapy
4 Association Week.
5 WHEREAS, the mission of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association, the
6 principal membership organization in Louisiana representing and promoting the profession
7 of physical therapy, is to enhance the physical health and functional abilities of members of
8 the public and to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of
9 movement dysfunctions and neuromusculoskeletal conditions; and
10 WHEREAS, the vision statement of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association is
11 that the association will advocate that physical therapy become the public's choice for the
12 diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions and movement
13 dysfunctions by expanding membership and enhancing participation in legislative
14 policymaking to achieve greater influence in health care delivery issues; and
15 WHEREAS, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants consistently aspire
16 to wisely apply the principals of altruism, excellence, caring, ethics, respect, communication,
17 and accountability, and they work together with other professionals to achieve optimal health
18 and wellness in individuals and communities; and

1 WHEREAS, the dedication of the men and women of the Louisiana Physical Therapy
2 Association has made a significant and positive difference in communities throughout the
3 state, and the members of the association merit a special measure of commendation.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for their
6 outstanding achievements; does hereby recognize and record for posterity their unwavering
7 commitment to excellence in serving the state's citizens; does hereby extend enduring
8 appreciation for the pride and honor they bring to the state of Louisiana; and does hereby
9 designate April 27 through May 1, 2015, as Louisiana Physical Therapy Association Week.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
11 president of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association.
