SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 67
BY SENATORS BROOME, ADLEY, ALARIO, ALLAIN, AMEDEE, APPEL, BROWN,
BUFFINGTON, CHABERT, CLAITOR, CORTEZ, CROWE,
DONAHUE, DORSEY-COLOMB, ERDEY, GALLOT, GUILLORY,
HEITMEIER, JOHNS, KOSTELKA, LAFLEUR, LONG, MARTINY,
MILLS, MORRELL, MORRISH, MURRAY, NEVERS, PEACOCK,
PERRY, PETERSON, RISER, GARY SMITH, JOHN SMITH,
TARVER, THOMPSON, WALSWORTH, WARD AND WHITE 
A RESOLUTION
To commend United States Air Force Technical Sergeant Ashley L. Tyler for volunteering
over eight hundred hours of personal time to help improve the quality of life for all
stateside personnel and enhance British-American relations.
WHEREAS, between March 1, 2011, and January 1, 2015, Technical Sergeant
Ashley L. Tyler volunteered over eight hundred hours of her personal time in numerous
activities; and 
WHEREAS, her base community volunteerism included:
(1) Two hundred hours to 100 SFS Knights in Blue Booster Club in which she
oversaw security and participated in the Mayfair Bazaar and Yuletide Bazaar, Police Week
and Squadron Christmas Party and organized or led Marauder Melee, Defender Challenge,
and 100 SFS/48 SFS Basket Ball Challenge; efforts which helped raise ten thousand dollars; 
(2)  Sixty hours to Air Force Sergeants' Association supporting local Air Force
Sergeants' Association (AFSA) chapter by assisting with four fundraising events and
member recruitment and assisting in set up and tear down for Special Needs Christmas
Party, RAF Mildenhall Half Marathon and Joan Mann Sports Day; efforts which raised one
thousand dollars; 
(3) Twenty hours to Stars of Great Britain #45 assisting in cooking dishes for "Hearts
Apart" Dinner for deployed spouses, facilitating Day of the Military Child "Baked Goods"
fund raiser and leading Marauder Melee "Funnel Cake" fund raiser; helping the club raise
one thousand dollars;
(4)  Three hours instructing class at Professional Development Center (PDC)
teaching AFSO 21 to First Term Airman at PDC;
(5)  Ten hours to RAF Mildenhall USO Events assisting in set up and tear down for
various concerts;

(6)  Fifteen hours as Black History Month Committee Member assisting in cooking
dishes for "Taste of Culture" event; 
(7)  Twenty-five hours to RAF Mildenhall Youth Center as youth soccer coach for
ages 5/6 and teaching teamwork and followership skills to AF members children;
(8)  Fifteen hours to Breast Cancer Awareness Month leading two Powder Puff
football games improving awareness of disease;
(9)  Forty hours to the North Side Fitness Center instructing Combat Fitness Class
and Helping individuals improve physical fitness; and
WHEREAS, her volunteerism also involved British, Deployment, and Home State
activities including:
(1)  Seventy-five hours involving operations at the Sather Air Base USO Center and
9/11 Memorial events;
(2)  Twenty hours for the Madingley Ceremony including Formation Reef
Bearer/2012 and Co-Led security detail/2013 during the Cambridge American Cemetery
Memorial Day Ceremony honoring fallen war heroes;
(3)  Fifteen hours to Beck Row Primary School leading Show and Tell and two
Defender Challenge Events and building host nation relations; 
(4)  Two hundred hours to the Kiwanis Club supporting local community by
collecting, packaging and delivering school supplies to the elementary/middle schools and
briefing Air Force Heritage/Culture to at-risk teenagers at local churches and schools in
Baton Rouge;
(5)  One hundred ninety hours to the Take it to the Streets Ministry procuring over
one thousand dollars from local businesses to help feed and provide clothing for local San
Antonio homeless residents, distributing food to over two hundred people, and bolstering the
outreach program;
(6)  Ten hours contributed to the San Antonio local Food Bank downloading, sorting,
and packaging over 10K lbs of produce providing 138 families with basic needs; and
WHEREAS, TSgt. Tyler performed outstanding volunteer service to the base and
local community for a sustained, direct, and consequential nature.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend United States Air Force Technical Sergeant Ashley L. Tyler for
volunteering over eight hundred hours to help improve the quality of life for all stateside
personnel and enhance British-American relations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to TSgt
Ashley L. Tyler.
