LEGISLATION: Discharges the House Ways and Means Committee from further
consideration of HB 123
1 A RESOLUTION
2To discharge the House Committee on Ways and Means from further consideration of
3 House Bill No. 123 and recommit the bill for hearing in the Committee of the Whole.
4 WHEREAS, House Bill No. 123 of the First Extraordinary Legislative Session of
52016 was scheduled for hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee on February 25,
62016, and the committee did not advance the bill; and
7 WHEREAS, House Rule 6.13(B) states: "In addition, a majority of the elected
8members of the House may by motion or resolution recall a legislative instrument from a
9committee and discharge the committee from further consideration of the same, in which
10case the instrument shall be recommitted to another committee or heard in the Committee
11of the Whole. Such a motion or a motion to adopt such a resolution shall not be in order
12unless the author of the legislative instrument and the chairman of the committee to which
13the legislative instrument is referred are present in the chamber at the time the motion is
14made."
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby discharge the House Committee on Ways and Means
17from further consideration of House Bill No. 123 and recommit the bill for hearing in the
18Committee of the Whole pursuant to House Rule 6.13(B).
